How Well Does This
Respooler Work?
Dayton
Daily News outdoor writer Jim Robey had this to say about Kyle's
Line Winder:
Line Winder Works
Kyle Bowling of Centerville, another
reader of outdoor columns, was especially interested in one about
the importance of starting a new fishing season with line on the
fishing reels that are not old and kinky.
"You and I both know that
the time tested method of putting new line on a reel is to have
your wife hold the spool with a pencil while you wind the line on
the reel," Bowling said.
I was aware that this task might
create some marital disharmony over the amount of tension a wife
should apply to the spool. Apparently, I underestimated the problem.
Bowling said the old line-spooling
practices involving man and wife have caused many marriages to end
in divorce.
Bowling has come to the rescue.
He has developed "Kyle's Line Winder." It's a simple plastic
device for holding the spool of line on a rod that fits tightly
in a vacuum cup.
The spool is placed on a rod
between a beveled fin on the rod, and the friction nut. One merely attaches
the vacuum cup to most smooth surfaces, and presto: you are ready
to re-spool.
Meanwhile, your wife can be watching
her favorite TV show.
I tried Bowling's product and
it works. I changed line on two reels this week. My wife and I have
not had one argument. |
